Wood Therapy vs Manual Molding

WonderSculpt Bali · 2 min read

Wood Therapy and Brazilian Molding (manual molding) are our two signature sculpting treatments. They share the same goals — contouring the body, reducing fluid retention and improving the look of the skin — but they get there in different ways.

If you’re not sure which one to book, this guide explains how each works, what it feels like and who it’s best for.

Wood Therapy: sculpting with wooden tools

Wood Therapy uses a set of wooden instruments — textured rollers, cups and shaped paddles — each designed for a specific area of the body. The tools allow the therapist to apply consistent, targeted pressure over larger areas.

  • Particularly effective on thighs, glutes, hips and areas with cellulite
  • Stimulates circulation and helps smooth the appearance of the skin
  • The textured rollers create a distinctive kneading sensation
  • Great for clients who like a firm, intense treatment

Brazilian Molding: sculpting by hand

Brazilian Molding is a 100% manual technique that combines a reducing massage with draining movements. It is fast, rhythmic and intense, and relies entirely on the therapist’s hands to shape and drain the body.

  • Very adaptable — the therapist feels the tissue and adjusts in real time
  • Excellent for the abdomen, waist and areas with fluid retention
  • Combines sculpting and lymphatic stimulation in the same movements
  • Ideal if you prefer the feeling of a hands-on massage

The key differences at a glance

  • Technique: wooden tools vs hands only
  • Sensation: kneading and rolling vs rhythmic, sweeping pressure
  • Focus: cellulite and contour on larger areas vs drainage and waist definition
  • Intensity: both are adapted to you — neither has to be painful

Which one should you choose?

Choose Wood Therapy if…

Your main concern is cellulite or the texture of the skin on your thighs and glutes, you enjoy a firm treatment, or you want to work intensively on larger areas.

Choose Brazilian Molding if…

You feel bloated or swollen, want to focus on the waist and abdomen, or you prefer the more natural sensation of a completely manual massage.

Not sure? Alternate them

Many of our clients alternate both techniques within a package. The body responds well to variety, and each technique complements the other. Our packages let you choose a different treatment for every session.

Session options and prices

Both treatments are available in the same formats: 60 minutes (Half Body or Express Full Body) for IDR 600K, and 90 or 120 minutes (Full Total Body) for IDR 750K and IDR 950K. All prices include tax.

Want to boost the result? Both can be combined with Cavitation or Radiofrequency in a single session, or finished with an Ice Sculpting add-on to firm the skin.

Whichever you choose, results build progressively. Consistency matters more than the technique itself.

Frequently asked questions

Which is more effective, Wood Therapy or Brazilian Molding?

Neither is “better” — they work differently. Wood Therapy is especially good for cellulite and larger areas, while Brazilian Molding excels at drainage and waist definition.

Can I combine both in the same package?

Yes. Our packages let you choose the treatment for each session, so you can alternate techniques.

Which one is gentler?

Both are adapted to your sensitivity. Some clients find manual molding feels more natural, while others prefer the even pressure of the wooden tools.
